The Joy and Fulfilment You Deny Yourself

Oftentimes some people wish to be like others because of the success or progress they observed they have achieved or are achieving in their journey. And with time, for a variety of reasons their desire to be like another grows. This can become overwhelming and pose a problem to such individuals if care is not taken.

As their desire to be like another grows, their talent, assignment, and self-worth gradually lowers to be buried. Most times, the reason for this unhealthy desire could be a branch of societal pressure, comparison to others, the feeling of inadequacy, insecurity, recognition, etc.

Aside from societal pressure, the other reason why some people wish to be like others is fear of being disliked and disapproved. They want to be liked by anyone and everyone and when they aren’t liked, they feel unloved, unwanted, rejected, excluded, and not good enough.

Wishing to be like someone can cause mental stress and the act can be exhausting.

The wish to be like someone else is a web that has caught up with both teenagers and adults.

There is freedom, peace, joy, fulfilment, honour, and glory in being yourself. Being yourself allows you to express your God-given talents, ideas, vision, and personality. Be BOLD and EXPRESS these and forget about being liked or validated by anyone. What you owe yourself and what God desires from you is to ensure you are constantly in tune with Him for direction and guidance.

You were uniquely created by our unique God for a purpose so why do you want to sandpaper yourself and leave this earth without carrying out a successful assignment and fulfiling your purpose?

Be like the giraffe that stands out because you were born to stand out. And you can only stand out when you are your most authentic self.

Joseph stood out amongst his brothers and became a minister.

Esther stood out amongst other virgins and was crowned a queen.

Ruth stood out and was privileged to be the grandmother of our Lord Jesus Christ.

John the Baptist stood out and won souls to God.

The more you sandpaper yourself you deprive yourself of what God wants to do through you, in you, and for you.

Unveil yourself and enjoy the beauty God has in store for you and as you do please never forget to stay humble.
