Vanished

The mystery of life as a vapour that vanishes is still incomprehensible I guess. But what is life after all? It is just like the vapour that vanishes in a twinkling of an eye.
I was on a journey on a faithful day when I witnessed a bus filled with passengers burn to ashes. Guess what? Those victims engaged in their various activities just like we do on a daily basis. But how about them now? Vanished!
The same day I made my navigation through the Northern region and I saw a young man lying lifeless by the roadside with people gathered around him with their arms folded into their armpits. What a sad thing! You know what happened to that young life? He also vanished!
I had a young woman breathe her last right in my arms while trying to do what I could to save her. I watched her life end and vanish just like a vapour evaporates and vanishes from our sight.
I had a neonate in my arms and did as much as I could to keep her eyes open but they were determined to shut. It is just like a second breath and man is no more.
Prior to the time my vehicle reached a certain point, I had seen people cluster. Then I asked the driver to slow down as I observed everything calling for attention on the highway. When we reached the spot, I could not differentiate the head of the young man from his extremities. Every part of him was rumpled by a heavy truck while he rode on his bike.
I knew of a little girl who was involved in a domestic fire accident and by the time her remains were brought out by the rescue team, every desire for mankind in me died. Was she any better than the garbage we burn? No!
A young man was rushed into the emergency unit of a hospital while I walked in to visit someone, I watched the emergency team struggle to straighten him because he was already in the rigor mortis stage.
These and many more have been my experiences with the departure of life.
The actual definition of life, if I would give my opinion, is to live for now. Whatever we strive and labour for will be gone and would mean even less to us after life has vanished. To live for now, I say, because what we have today is all ours but tomorrow may never be ours.
Stand in the light of the morning and count the stars, then put into account the many stars that are missing. With every minute count there are multitudes of stars going dim.
We fight for money, power, fame and possessions and many more. Only a few people have at the back of their hearts that we all will fade away ‘soon’ like the stars of the morning.

  • Always forgive.

For like the vapour we shall all vanish some day.
James 4:14
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
