The Power Of Envy.

In this age of gross darkness covering the people, one of the things responsible is Envy, and unfortunately, it’s now found amongst children of God.

A few years ago, statistics showed that over 79% of women are envious, and 74% of men are also jealous.

The presence of envy is a feeling of resentment and unhappiness because someone else possesses, or has achieved, what one wishes oneself to keep or to have completed.

I’ve seen ladies dislike their fellow ladies for no reason or unreasonable reasons. They aren’t bold enough to say or never know that they’re envious.

The world considers envy synonymous with women, and this cankerworm is found even amongst those claiming to be God’s children.

Envy begins to develop when individuals compare themselves to others and find themselves inferior or even think they are better than others.

Envy is a tool in the hands of the devil to destroy the Church, families, friends, colleagues, communities, and nations.

An envious person will;

◼ Never see any good in another but flaws.

◼ Always get upset/troubled when they mention other people for admiration or successes they’ve achieved.

◼ Happy when others are messed up in sin or are facing setbacks.

◼ Constantly checking the social media page of those they’re envious of to see what they’re doing.

◼ Never happy for others when they share a testimony or achieve success/growth.

◼ Attempting to control their spouse’s behavior because they feel threatened by their successes.

◼ Constantly feeling the need to tarnish someone else’s success or image(integrity).

◼ Always judge others negatively.

Envy is poisonous because it leads to unhealthy competition, bitterness, depression, resentment, hatred, and evil practices to put out the light of the person you are envious of, leading to death.

Envy eats you up within and destroys you both here and in eternity.

Envy is from the devil. He sends this spirit of his to poison your heart and soul and destroy your relationships with God and men. Anyone who has found themselves wrapped up in the arms of envy knows how damaging and mind-consuming it can become.

Envy leads to hatred, and I read something about aversion and its effect on a person’s health. Medically, hate increases the levels of two hormones: cortisol and adrenaline. These hormones can cause weight gain, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and chronic illness.

Proverbs 27:4 tells us, “Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who can stand before envy?”

This scripture implies that envy is more dangerous and deadly than wrath and anger.

Envy deprives one from:

  • Enjoying absolute peace of mind,
  • Hinders what you envy in others to be your lot,
  • You will never enjoy the blessedness of having the gift of men,
  • Hampers your flow with God, and
  • Finally, you will experience no eternal rest but unrest when the roll (book of life) is opened in heaven.
